A balanced, well-paced, and interesting story
By Charity Rowell on October 22, 2015
When Brad is suddenly called away to personally oversee repairs on a secret project in Lima, he promises Darcey that he will be home in a couple of weeks. When five weeks pass with no word from Brad, Darcey impulsively takes matters in her own hands and decides to travel to Peru in order to find out what has happened to her beloved.
Darcey reaches out to Brad’s partner, Armando, to help her reach Brad; not realizing that Armando is suspected of sabotaging the project, and is unwittingly playing into Armando’s plans for revenge against Brad. However, Armando never gets the chance to implement his plans because she is kidnapped by an employee of a human trafficker who knows that his boss can get top dollar for selling a delicate and seemingly innocent American woman to the highest bidder.
During the kidnapping, Darcey is injured. Between the injury she sustained and the drugs she was given during the kidnapping, Darcey suffers from amnesia. Confused and in a foreign land, Darcey can’t remember who she is, or why she is in Peru; what she does know is that she is being held against her will, with no discernible way of escaping.
Will Darcey find a way to escape, or will Brad realize what has happened and rescue Darcey before she is sold to the highest bidder? If he does rescue her; will she even remember him?
Inescapable: The Beginning by Madge H. Gressley contains several different elements: some action, intrigue, suspense, and romance. I was instantly charmed by Darcey’s character, and was engrossed in the book from the beginning to the end. The book had a fast pace, but it wasn’t a whirlwind of activity; the plot and the characters had depth and were well thought out; and I didn’t find the story line predictable.
I really enjoyed Inescapable: The Beginning by Madge H. Gressley; Gressley has managed to combine the elements of suspense, intrigue, and romance to create a balanced, well-paced, and interesting story. I am really looking forward to reading more about Darcey and Brad in the next book, Inescapable: Remembering.

Here are just of few of the reviews:
5.0 out of 5 stars – Harkens to “Sphere” by Michael Crichton
An intriguing romance that reminds me of Michael Crichton’s “Sphere”. Thoroughly enjoyable read!
5.0 out of 5 stars – Murder, Mystery, Intrigue
What’s better than a book that encompasses mystery, intrigue, and romance? I cannot think of anything! As a new Indie Author Madge Gressley hits it out of the ball park with her debut novel. Inescapable, the first in a series, has enough mystery to keep the reader on the edge of their seats from page one, enough intrigue that it is able to continue to build throughout the book and enough romance to compliment the intrigue.
Inescapable takes readers on a wonderful journey from Dallas to three miles under water and from Lima to Morocco. The characters are so real that they almost jump off the page. The friendship between Darcey and Marti is so similar to friendships I have had, I could empathize and make an instant connection with each. The relationship Darcey and Brad have is awesome!
I won’t spoil the book for new readers but I will say this: once you start this book, you won’t be able to stop and when you reach the end if you don’t … then you need to reread it!
Take a chance on a new indie author! You won’t be disappointed! I promise!!!
Madge Gressley has hit another home run with the sequel to her first book! This series is extremely hot and I can’t wait to see what happens to Brad and Darcey! Totally worth the time and money for a story that will pull you in from the first sentence and keep you riveted until the last!!!
