Review: Branches of Time

Branches of Time

Luca Rossi

I’ve finished reading  “The Branches of Time.” First let me say that it is not my general genre that I read, but all in all, I enjoyed it very much. It was a little hard getting into the story, but once I figured out the author’s writing style, it read quickly. I did have a little trouble figuring out what time frame and exactly where the story was taking place. Sometimes it felt Medieval, sometimes Nordic, sometimes futuristic, sometimes fantasy, sometime off world, so I’m still not sure. The author indicated that it took place on an island but, I never quite got that feeling. It would have been nice to be able to nail it down.

I liked the characters, especially Beanor—a true villain. The characters Nal and her brother, even though the author did not say, I believe they are the ones playing a game that manipulates the other characters.

As I said, I enjoyed it very much and would love to read the sequel to it.
